Popular Family Run Restaurant Closes In Trumbull
While they have closed their original location in Trumbull, the family isn't completely closing the door on the town.
TRUMBULL, CT — A popular family run restaurant is relocating from Trumbull to Stratford, the owners announced.
Marianna’s Pantry, owned and operated by sisters Melissa Cotto and Marina DeCarli, recently closed its location at 6528 Main St. in Trumbull.
The sisters announced “with a lot of gratitude in our hearts” that Marianna’s Pantry will be opening in a new location in Stratford, according to a post on Facebook earlier this week.

“This journey hasn’t always been easy, and being able to continue at all means more to us than we can really put into words,” the post reads. “We’re incredibly thankful for the support, encouragement, and patience so many of you have shown us along the way. Because of you, we get the opportunity to keep going—and that means everything.”
The restaurant’s new location is 7365 Main St. in Stratford in the Oronoque Shopping Plaza.

“This new chapter will also bring a few new and exciting additions that we’re looking forward to sharing with you as we grow,” according to the post on Facebook.
Marianna’s Pantry is a breakfast and lunch spot that also offers takeout dinners and more.
Cotto wrote in a post on the restaurant’s website that her sister has a culinary degree and has “traveled throughout Italy, working alongside the best chefs for dough and pastry recipes that you cannot get anywhere around here.”
“Our menu offers specialty coffees, breakfast, lunch and take out dinners,” Cotto wrote. “All of our meals are made with fresh, local ingredients – you can even get my Nonna's famous homemade sauce to bring home and enjoy with your family.”
Marianna's Pantry is named after their mother, Marianna DeCarli, who has “always showed us how to work hard, be the best version of yourself, and how to love,” according to the post.
While they have closed their original location in Trumbull, the sisters aren’t completely closing the door on the town.
“We’re also still actively exploring the possibility of a second location in Trumbull, and we’ll keep you updated as things develop,” the post on Facebook reads. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by us and supporting Marianna’s Pantry. We truly wouldn’t be here without you, and we’re so grateful to continue this journey together.”
Cotto told the Trumbull Times that the landlord alerted them last May that their lease, which expired in February, wouldn’t be renewed. They have identified a new location in Trumbull but are still working on the details, according to the Trumbull Times.
Marianna’s Pantry plans to open its new Stratford location by May 1, according to the Trumbull Times.
