Jeffrey David Wiener grew up in the house next to me in Trumbull. He attended , l and graduated in 1986 as its Co-Valedictorian.
I remember Jeffrey as a very intelligent young man who was funny, outgoing and full of life. He was loved dearly by his parents, who now reside in New Jersey, and his wonderful sister Robin, who graduated THS in 1981.
Although I had not seen Jeffrey since his high school years, I was devastated to hear the tragic news that he was working in one of the World Trade Center buildings when they collapsed on that unforgettable day. He didn’t survive. Jeffrey was only 33 years old.

When I read the “Day of Remembrance” article last week it saddened and disappointed me that one of Trumbull’s own was not mentioned and has been publicly forgotten. This omission by the Town, its current administration, and the periodical that covers the Town should not be overlooked.
As the years pass, I am hopeful that the Town will not forget him and include his memory in its commemorative events.
