Ross Dress For Less Trumbull Store To Open In Former Home Goods Space

Trumbull officials said the new store, the chain's first CT location, is expected to open in the former Home Goods space later this summer.

TRUMBULL, CT — Ross Dress for Less, a discount department store chain specializing in clothes, home decor and other items, is set to open its first Connecticut store in Trumbull, according to town officials.

Director of Economic and Community Development Rina Bakalar confirmed Tuesday the chain will open a new store at the Hawley Lane Mall in a space previously occupied by Home Goods.

"This is their first location in Connecticut," Bakalar said in an email to Patch. "This is a discount fashion and home good chain with stores in many other states, including California and Florida."

According to Bakalar, the new Ross Dress for Less store will use the entire space vacated by Home Goods, measuring approximately 35,000 square feet.

"It will bring good foot traffic to the site," Bakalar said. "Everyone likes a discount too."

An exact opening date for the store has not been announced, however Bakalar said it was likely to open in late summer.

Requests for comment from Ross Dress for Less were not immediately returned Tuesday.
