Security Officer Punched During Shoplifting Incident: Trumbull PD

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested after he punched a loss prevention officer in the face at Macy's and damaged a shirt during a shoplifting incident Aug. 9, according to police.

Loss prevention officers saw a man select polo shirts and go into a fitting room. He took off the shirt tags, put one shirt on and tried to leave the store, police said.

He noticed loss prevention officers, went back into a fitting and took the shirt off. He then tried to leave the store, but was grabbed by one of the officers, police said. He punched the officer in the face.

Security officers managed to bring him to the ground. A shirt was damaged from his shoplifting efforts, police said.

Jamor Jackson, 23, was charged with third-degree assault, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny and third-degree criminal mischief.
