Senior Tax Relief Application Deadline Extended In Trumbull
The deadline to apply for Elderly and Disabled Homeowners Tax Relief from the town has been extended in Trumbull.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Vicki Tesoro announced Friday she has extended the deadline to apply for Elderly and Disabled Homeowners Tax Relief from the town to Oct. 17.
In a news release, Tesoro said this extension applies to those who have never applied, or needed to reapply but missed the May 15 deadline. The town will accept late applications without reason.
According to Tesoro, relief is based on total income. Applicants' total income cannot exceed $70,000. Application information can be found at this link.

Tesoro also noted anyone who has a medical condition or filed a tax return extension with the IRS may apply for an extension to file for senior tax relief from the state. You must file this application by Aug. 15.
Available exemptions can be found here. Before you file an application for either of these programs, please contact the tax assessor's office at 203-452-5016 to determine your eligibility, Tesoro said.
