Serial Home Depot Thief Arrested: Trumbull PD

The items he managed to steal were pretty bulky, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A New Haven man was arrested after he was caught stealing from the Trumbull Home Depot five times over the course of a couple of months, according to police. Nashid Abdul-Ahad, 42, managed to steal from the store between September and November of 2017 before finally getting caught.

He stole a vacuum valued at $378, a $199 leaf blower, space heaters worth $394, a $259 chainsaw and a $349 chainsaw, police said. The total value of all stolen items was nearly $1,600.

Police got an arrest warrant and Abdul-Ahad was charged Jan. 17 with fourth-degree larceny. He was held on a $5,000 bond.
