Suspected Serial Trumbull Burglar Caught: PD

He could be responsible for more than 10 burglaries, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Fairfield man was arrested after he was suspected of committing several burglaries in the Nichols section of town over the past several months, according to police.

Officers stopped Evan Corigliano, 35, May 29 where he and girlfriend Remi Cooper, 25, were charged with possession of a controlled substance, said Lt. Keith Golding, police spokesman. A small amount of herion and cocaine were found in the vehicle.

Police confiscated several pieces of jewelry that matched descriptions of items stolen during a recent burglary on Old Dike Road, which is where Cooper lives, Golding said.

Additional evidence from other burglaries was recovered

An arrest warrant was issued for Corigliano and he was arrested June 26 and charged with third-degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and criminal mischief for a West Lake Road burglary that occurred May 11. He was held in lieu of $30,000 bail.

In total police believe he could be responsible for more than 10 Trumbull burglaries.
