Sports Authority Near Trumbull Town Line Opens its Doors

The opening attracted much fanfare.

The Sports Authority on Main Street in Bridgeport close to the Trumbull line had its grand opening Saturday.

The opening attracted much fanfare and was attended by Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch as well as other city officials, Bridgeport Chargers cheerleaders and members of the North End Little League.

The store is called the Trumbull location, but it is really in Bridgeport and much like the mall it sits near the border of Fairfield, Trumbull and Bridgeport.

“Bridgeport’s getting better every day,” Finch said. “Sports Authority opening their doors in our city is further proof that statement is true. It’s a great company that is creating jobs in the state’s largest city while helping to grow our economy. It’s also an endorsement of our city becoming a place where companies want to invest and hire people, and where families want to live, work, and raise their families.”
