St. Joseph Repeats As Class L Girls Soccer Title Holders

The Cadets defeated Notre Dame-Fairfield in the championship game Saturday.

HARTFORD, CT — The St. Joseph Cadets out of Trumbull garnered a second consecutive state title, easily defeating Notre Dame-Fairfield 3-0 in the Class L state championship game at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford.

St. Joseph head coach Jack Nogueira's squad completed a dominant 2022, finishing a 14-1-1 regular season with a 4-0 postseason run en route to another CIAC state title.

In winning the championship, St. Joseph repeated as champion, previously winning in 2021.
Notre Dame-Fairfield finished a 13-1-2 regular season with a 3-1 postseason run en route to the state runner-up spot.

The MVP of the championship game was sophomore Alexa Pino, as chosen by game officials.

St. Joseph's goal scorers were sophomore Sara Parker with two and freshman Julia Nunes with one.
