State Official Arrested After 4th DUI Arrest: PD

A member of the state Board of Education was arrested after he failed to show up for court, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A current member of the state Board of Education and former Trumbull Board of Education member was taken into custody by police in New Haven after he failed to appear in court. He was wanted for skipping a hearing related to one of his four recent DUI arrests.

Stephen Wright, 62, was arrested by warrant and was released after posting a $25,000 bond, according to the Connecticut Post.

He was first arrested for DUI on Feb. 22 in Norwalk. He was then arrested on Feb. 27 in Shelton, by State Police Troop I on March 17 and Stratford Police April 10, according to court records.

Wright served on the Trumbull Board of Education from 2005 to 2009 and again from 2011 to 2013.
