Student Brings Toy Gun To School, Prompts Police Investigation: PD

Police said an investigation was launched after a student brought a toy gun to school in Trumbull this week.

TRUMBULL, CT — An investigation was launched Wednesday after a student brought a toy gun to school in Trumbull, according to police.

In an email, Police Lt. Brian Weir said the incident was reported around 2 p.m.

Officers determined the item was a Nerf gun and the student's parent was advised, Weir said. The student was not arrested, however they were referred to a juvenile review board.

News 12 Connecticut reports the juvenile showed the Nerf gun to another student. Parents were also notified about the incident, however officials said there was no safety risk related to this incident at any point.
