Summer Vacation Getting Shorter

Let's hope winter will give Trumbull a break.

"As of today, Trumbull Public Schools have used five 'snow' days. At this time, the planned last day of school is Wednesday, June 20, 2012. June 21 and 22 and April 9 are the next three days to be used for 'snow' days. Any days needed after those days will be taken from the April vacation (April 16 -20, 2012) beginning with Friday, April 20," said Schools Supt. Ralph Iassogna.

Views on the matter were mixed, based on comments by Facebook users. Some supported keeping April vacation because it broke up the school year between March and June. Others wanted February break cut, and some wanted single day holidays cut.

"As a wife of a teacher (not in Trumbull) they need those [long] breaks for sanity," 

But, two people noted, the school contract may require cutting April vacation.
