According to Sustainable Trumbull, this event is a great opportunity for residents who do not backyard compost to reduce pollution by keeping their leftover Halloween pumpkins out of the trash, which currently gets incinerated in Connecticut.

The post also notes this is a one-time drop off event for pumpkins only. Residential Waste Systems offers regular curbside pick up of food scraps to all Trumbull residents.
