Tashua School Principal Charlotte Janis is stepping down to care for her parents, who live out-of-state.
Janis has been principal for 10 years. She will stay on part-time to assist the interim principal.
"It goes without saying she'll be missed," said School Board Chairman Steve Wright.
"It has been a privilege to work at Tashua School," Janis said in her resignation letter.
The district will look inside and out for a permanent replacement, according to the board.
