Trumbull BOE Increases Budget Request
Health insurance costs drove the increase over the superintendent's proposal.
TRUMBULL, CT — The Board of Education is asking for a 4.3 percent budget increase over the current year. The board increased the ask by .5 percent from Superintendent Gary Cialfi's request due to an increase in health insurance costs.
Health insurance plans are expected to cost the district between 7.2 and eight percent more this coming fiscal year, according to the Trumbull Times.
First Selectman Vicki Tesoro will have until March 1 to change the total amount of the budget request before it goes to the Board of Finance.
