The single most pressing issue facing our town/district is _______, and
this is what I intend to do about it.

Maintaining the high level and quality of our education system is
paramount, achieved by securing appropriate funding and by balancing
spending, while allowing for future growth in technology offerings and other
additional programs to benefit the students population. I will seek input from residents regarding
curriculum and programing and will work to enhance the current school
security protocols to allow students learn in a safe and happy environment,
positioning them to compete in the 21st century. I will work diligently with
members of the Board of Education and the parent community in the critically
important search for a new School Superintendent.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates
seeking this post?

I have been a student, parent and active community volunteer for 39 years
in our town and look forward to serving on the BOE by using my extensive
business experience to achieve synergies with Town services to reduce costs.
I will use my perspective as a parent of three graduates of the Trumbull
public school system to advocate for students and parents in order to
continue to improve our education system. I have lived in Trumbull since 1978
and, along with my wife and three children, am a product of the Trumbull
Public schools, making me a fierce advocate for its continued betterment.

List other issues that define your campaign platform:

I have identified areas in the Board of Education budget in which I feel
can achieve synergies and reduce expenses that could allow us to augment
current technology offerings, hire additional teachers and potentially reduce
class sizes.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle
this job?

I am a business professional with a proven track record of over achieving,
managing budgets, leading teams, hiring personnel and identifying and
realizing quantifiable cost savings.

The best advice ever shared with me was ...

When you make decisions from the heart and head, no one can ever criticize
a decision you've made.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I care about Trumbull residents, our school system and the future of our
town. I have been an active volunteer
in the community for three decades, serving on the Board of and coaching
Trumbull Little League, coaching AYSO and Trumbull Travel soccer and Trumbull
Recreation and Travel Basketball youth sports teams. I am the proud father of
three wonderful children and have been married to Lori Rosasco-Schwartz for
32 years. I would like to serve on the Board of Education to do my part to
ensure that we maintain and exceed our current high standards of education,
so that all children have the same or even greater opportunities than my
children did while in the Trumbull Public School system.
