Susan Strauder Fatse tells Patch why she should be elected to the Trumbull Town Council.

TRUMBULL, CT — The 2019 municipal election is heating up in Trumbull and there are plenty of races with candidates eager to serve in elected office.

Susan Strauder Fatse is running for Town Council as a Republican. She is an attorney and has previous experience as a commissioner of the Trumbull Housing Authority.

Excessive and unnecessary spending in the first selectman administrative offices. I will aim to reduce employee headcount and legal fees and foster smaller government and responsible spending.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
I will not advocate radical zone changes and focus on cost reduction within the governing bodies in town
List other issues that define your campaign platform:
Public safety has been impacted by the reduction of police officers in our town. We need to keep our police force strong and provide the necessary resources to do so.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I have worked as a commissioner on the Trumbull Housing Authority which governs and manages the safety and quality of living for low-income seniors and person with disabilities at Stern Village in Trumbull. I was an integral figure in formulating strong policies and procedures, and procuring
improvement measures for that community. Also I remain on the board of the THA Corporation which makes financial decisions relating to the Village.

In dealing with issues of controversy, one should be kindly firm and firmly kind.
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am an attorney and I volunteer my legal services with the Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport helping other attorneys to serve victims of domestic violence.
