Trumbull Car Burglar Arrested: PD

He burglarized vehicles at two popular spots in town.

TRUMBULL, CT — Police arrested a man who is accused of breaking into several vehicles at Planet Fitness and Bow Tie Theaters in Trumbull.

Four vehicles were burglarized on May 2 in the Bow Tie parking lot and a day later vehicles were broken into at the Planet Fitness.

Planet Fitness turned over surveillance video of one of the burglaries that showed the thief using an older Honda Civic, police said.

On June 14 a concerned person called police about a suspicious vehicle and gave police the license plate. Police learned the vehicle belonged to Isaias Rivera, 27, of Bridgeport. They also found a camera that was sold to a pawn shop was sold by Rivera, police said.

He was arrested July 18 after his parole officer brought him to police.

Rivera is charged with four counts of third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief, two counts of fifth-degree larceny, one count of fourth-degree larceny and one count of sixth-degree larceny. Bond was set at $50,000.
