Trumbull Celebrates Read Aloud Day

Guest speakers came to Trumbull schools to read books to students on Thursday.

Trumbull students and others celebrated Read Aloud Day on April 9.

This year’s theme was “How Does a Garden Grow”

State Rep. Laura Devlin (R-134) read Farmer Will Allen and the Growing Table to 5th graders at Jane Ryan School.

The book about a former basketball star turned farmer who is able to see what others can’t and come up with solutions to problems.

“What a terrific book with a good message to read to these students. I hope they enjoyed the story as much as I enjoyed reading the book to them,” Devlin said.

Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst also took part in the day’s festivities and read to Mrs. Grunow’s 5th grade class at Frenchtown Elementary School.
