Trumbull Corner Deli to Reopen
The deli was bought by another well-known local deli family.

Trumbull’s longtime Corner Deli on Main Street will reopen under new ownership come spring.
The deli’s longtime owners closed shop and listed the building for sale last summer.
Trumbull resident and owner/operator of Massimo’s in Bridgeport Massimo Colandrea bought the building.

“I always wanted to open a business in my own town, so I was very excited when the Corner Deli became available,” Colandrea said. “My family and I will be completely renovating the space, and will be adding our own signature look and flavor there, including espresso, cappuccino, Italian pastries and paninis.”
Massimo’s will continue to be operated in Bridgeport and the new Trumbull location will be run by a member of the family.

“This is a win-win-win for the seller, the buyer and the Town,” said First Selectman Timothy M. Herbst. “My teams in economic development and permitting are focused on facilitating businesses that not only grow the grand list, but also contribute to the authentic character of our special town. I couldn’t be more delighted to see the Colandrea family choosing to invest here.”
Closing is scheduled in December and renovations will begin shortly after that.
Local real estate agent Kenneth Martin with William Raveis said he was sensitive to the historic significance of the location and wanted the deal to be more than just business.
“...this deal was not just about dollars and sense, it was about bringing a new life to the business from someone who understood its special place in our community,” he said.
