The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The single most pressing issue facing our town is Cost of Living and this is what I intend to do about it.
I intend to remain focused on spending and taxes and will do all I can to ensure Trumbull residents continue to get outstanding services – and can afford to live in our wonderful town. I have been a strong force on the board of finance these past two years to keep our taxes at historic lows. Last year, I advocated for a zero percent increase – and got it. This year, while we had to raise taxes, we managed to keep the rate under 2% while fully funding the school system, and public safety and all other Trumbull Departments. I am committed to ensuring Trumbull remains a wonderful place to live – and affordable.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I have a proven track record of success on the board of finance. I’ve taken the lead during the past two budget cycles to ensure we effectively finance the town’s needs while keeping our costs as low as possible (please watch the board of finance budget meetings and the most recent joint meeting between the board of finance and board of education for clarity on this point).
Accomplishments:
I’m analytical and creative and an unusual combination. I have a 30 year track record of increasing responsibility in the corporate arena and am now an active angel investor (100+ investments). I’ve always loved numbers and analysis – and have a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business.
Other issues:
1. Improve services to residents (Education and park and recreation; road paving)
2. Enable shared services between the town and the Board of Education to reduce costs
3. Fund past retirement obligations and invest responsibly in our future
