Trumbull Firefighters Remove Wedding Ring

The man had broken his finger and needed the ring removed.

TRUMBULL, CT — Volunteer firefighters in Trumbull removed a man's wedding ring which became stuck after he broke his finger.

The man had the finger splinted by a doctor's office, but his finger swelled and turned blue and purple from lack of circulation. He went to the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 to ask firefighters to cut it off.

The ring was cut off with new equipment and the man felt immediate relief. He has been married for 30 years.
