Trumbull Firefighters Rescue Dog During House Fire
The family managed to escape with one dog, but couldn't find the other. Firefighters found the dog in a smoke-filled room.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull firefighters extinguished a blaze and rescued a dog on Rocky Hill Road Monday afternoon.
Trumbull Center and Nichols Fire Department found heavy smoke coming from a residence around 2:30 p.m, according to the Trumbull Center Fire Department Facebook page. A small appliance had caught on fire in the basement.
The family was only able to find one of their dogs as they escaped the fire, but firefighters found and rescued another dog behind a couch.

It took several hours to clear smoke from the house. The fire is being investigated by the Trumbull Fire Marshal's office.
