The Trumbull Health Department Encourages Families to Add Immunizations to their Back-To-School Checklist

August is the month of preparation as families get ready for the start of a new school year. Parents are shopping for school supplies, new outfits, and everything students need for a successful year. While checking off those back-to-school to-do lists, the Trumbull Health Department reminds families not to overlook one of the most important preparations – making sure children are up to date on their required immunizations.

To help families beat the back-to-school rush, the Trumbull Health Department will offer school-age (3-18 years of age) immunizations on Tuesday, August 11, at the Trumbull Health Department, 335 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Appointments are required.

“Ensuring your child(ren) is protected from illness this school year is one of the most important steps families can take,” said Joan Littlefield, Trumbull Health Department Director of Health. “The Trumbull Health Department encourages parents to schedule appointments early so students are healthy, protected, and ready for a successful year.”

Most insurances are accepted. If you do not have insurance, a nominal administration fee of $21 will be charged for the first vaccine and $5 will be charged for each additional vaccine during the same visit. Cash, check or credit card are accepted. The required immunizations for all children attending Connecticut schools can be found at CT DPH 2025 immunization provider page.
