As the days grow shorter and colder, the Trumbull High School Choirs brighten and warm the moment with songs which celebrate the upcoming holiday season. On Thursday, December 17, the five Trumbull High School choral groups will present their annual Winter Concert at 7:30 pm in the Trumbull High School Auditorium, 72 Strobel Road. Tickets are $5 each, available at the door.
Choir Director Anne Tornillo will conduct the Concert Choir, the Chamber Singers, the Freshman Chorus, the Women’s Ensemble and the Men’s Ensemble in a variety of holiday favorites including Up on the Housetop, We Three Kings, Carol of the Bells, and Maoz Tsur. Let it Go from the Disney film Frozen is a fun addition by the a cappella Chamber Singers who will also perform a selection of sacred and secular music. The evening will conclude, as always, with a joyful Hallelujah Chorus, an annual tradition at Trumbull High when all the choral groups combine on stage joined by chorus alumni from the audience.

Over the years the Trumbull High School Choirs have collaborated with other choral groups at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and have performed in England, France, Italy and Germany on their international travels. This year the Choirs are preparing for a spring trip to New Orleans, adding a bit of jazz to their repertoire.
“These trips would not be possible without the tremendous support of the Trumbull community,” said Tornillo. “We would like to extend our thanks for the generous response to our annual Phone-a-thon fundraiser earlier this fall and hope that many of our donors will join us for the concert.”
