Trumbull To Host Pop-Up Mattress Recycling Event
The town will host a pop-up mattress recycling event later this year in Trumbull. Here are the details.
TRUMBULL, CT — The town will host a pop-up mattress recycling event later this year at Trumbull High School.
According to the town website, the event will take place May 9 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in front of the school.
The website notes the Bye Bye Mattress program converts residents' old product from waste to recycling.

Up to 75 percent of mattress components can be recycled, according to the town.
"As a result, our landfills and incinerators are less crowded as old mattresses are recycled into new, useful products," a description on the town website reads.

According to the website, Bye Bye Mattress is a mattress recycling program operating in Connecticut that was established by law and is operated by Mattress Recycling Council, a nonprofit that uses a recycling fee collected on each mattress and box spring sold, making recycling easier in local communities.
