Trumbull House Members To Host Drive-By Flag Collection

The legislators will host a drive-by drop-off flag event in Trumbull and be given a proper ceremonial disposal.

TRUMBULL, CT — State Reps. David Rutigliano, Ben McGorty and Tony Scott encourage Trumbull residents to properly dispose of their worn, faded and tattered American flags in a dignified and respectful way ahead of Flag Day on June 14.

According to a news release provided by House Republicans, the three lawmakers will be wrapping up their annual flag collection on June 9.

From May 1 to June 9, there are two drop-off box locations for the flags:

  • Trumbull Public Library, 33 Quality Street, Trumbull
  • Fairchild Nichols Memorial Library, 1718 Huntington Turnpike, Trumbull

The collected worn American flags will have a proper ceremonial disposal according to the U.S. Flag Code.

The legislators will also be hosting an in-person drive-by, drop-off flag event June 3 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Middlebrook Elementary School.
