Trumbull Issues Reminder About Temporary Election Signs

TRUMBULL, CT — As the Nov. 4 municipal election nears, the town reminds residents of rules regarding the placement of election-related signs within Trumbull.

According to the town website, these rules, found in Section 14-8 of the Trumbull Municipal Code, apply to candidate, political party and referendum signs.

Anyone wishing to post a sign on property owned by an individual or business must obtain the owner's permission before posting, according to town officials.

Signs must not be erected on town or state property, officials noted.

Signs may not be posted more than 45 days prior to Election Day and must be removed within five days after Election Day.

The zoning enforcement officer is responsible for enforcing this ordinance, and enforcement can include fines and/or removal of signs, according to the town.
