Trumbull Library To Host Third Annual Community Volunteer Fair

TRUMBULL, CT — The Trumbull Library will host its third annual community volunteer fair this weekend.

According to a news release provided by the library, the fair will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Hawley-Nichols Community Room at the library's main branch.

The event will bring together 22 nonprofit and civic organizations serving Trumbull and the greater Fairfield County area, according to the library.

Designed to connect residents directly with organizations doing meaningful work in the community, the community volunteer fair offers a practical and welcoming way to explore how to get involved, according to the library.

According to the library, attendees can speak one-on-one with representatives, learn about specific volunteer roles and ask questions about time commitments, training and application processes.

This year's fair highlights the full range of volunteer engagement available in the area, according to the library.

Some organizations are seeking help with single-day projects and special events, while others are recruiting volunteers for ongoing roles that involve training and longer-term commitment, according to the library.

Several participating groups also offer small scholarships and internship opportunities that may appeal to high school and college students mapping out their academic and professional goals, according to the library.

"I'm very excited about the balance we've achieved this year," Elizabeth Adams, adult services coordinator at Trumbull Library, said in a news release. "We have a great mix of groups seeking short-term commitments for one-off volunteering, perfect for students who need service hours, alongside organizations looking for long-term partners and trained volunteers. There truly is something for everyone."

Attendees will be able to speak directly with representatives from nationally recognized charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities, alongside local organizations like the Trumbull Historical Society and the Long Hill Garden Club.

Participating groups represent causes ranging from health and human services to environmental stewardship, youth programs, local history and community outreach, according to the library.

"We're thrilled to see this event continue to grow," Assistant Library Director Allison Allen said in a news release. "The volunteer fair brings together an incredible cross-section of organizations and residents, and it's inspiring to watch those connections form. We're proud to host an event that highlights the generosity and community spirit that define Trumbull."

The volunteer fair is free and open to the public.

Residents may drop in at any time between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and no registration is required.

The Trumbull Library Main Branch is located at 33 Quality Street in Trumbull.
