Trumbull Man Arrested For DUI: PD

Officers found several open and unopened beer cans in the vehicle, according to police.

TRUMBULL, CT — Officers arrested a Trumbull man after he was found to be driving while intoxicated Feb. 26, police said.

A passerby reported to an officer directing traffic on Church Hill Road that a vehicle ahead was operating out of the ordinary. Another patrol officer stopped the vehicle after it committed a violation, police said. Several open and unopened beer containers were found in the vehicle.

Operator Kevin Basham, 60, seemed intoxicated and failed some field sobriety tests, according to police. Other tests he refused. He also refused a blood-alcohol test at police headquarters.

He was charged with DUI, failure to drive right and failure to insure vehicle.
