Trumbull Man Bites Cop, Gets Tased: PD
What started out as a routine medical call escalated after the man became aggressive, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT—Police fired Tasers at a man twice after he bit a police officer, according to police.
Police responded to a Church Hill Road residence Sept. 11 for a medical call. Carlos Viera, 19, reportedly took many pills and his significant other became worried, police said.
Police found him unconscious and shook him to wake him up. He became agitated and police tried to explain they were just there for his well-being and not to arrest him.

He became belligerent with police and EMS and threatened his significant other, police said.

He then lunged at an officer and bit the officer's arm hard, police said. Officers fired Tasers at him twice and put him in handcuffs. He also threatened officer's and their families.
He was charged with assault on a police officer, interfering with an officer, disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening.
