Trumbull Man Charged with DUI After Crash: PD

The man crashed into a stone wall, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT—A local man was charged with DUI after he crashed into a stone wall, police said.

Police responded to Canoe Brook Road Oct. 21 after a witness saw a motorist slow down and then smash into a stone wall.

The driver, identified as Robert Zaleski, 46, appeared intoxicated when police arrived and gave his pistol permit instead of his license, police said.

Officers noticed an empty bottle of beer and a bottle of 99 proof banana liquor in his vehicle, according to police.

He complained of pain and was taken to the hospital for treatment. He turned himself in Nov. 26 and was charged with DUI and failure to drive right.
