Trumbull Memorial Day Parade 2026 Details Announced

The town has announced details for Trumbull's 2026 Memorial Day parade and other activities.

TRUMBULL, CT — First Selectman Vicki Tesoro recently announced the town's 2026 Memorial Day parade and other activities will take place May 25 in Trumbull.

According to an announcement on the town website, a brief ceremony and wreath-laying will take place at 8 a.m. at the Vietnam Memorial on White Plains Road "in recognition of the lives lost in Vietnam."

All are welcome to attend, according to the town.

The Town Hall ceremony will honor parade Grand Marshal Susan Stuban Monks, an attorney, educator and former Naval officer whose career spans maritime operations, law and higher education, according to the announcement.

A lieutenant in the United States Naval Reserves from 1978-1991, she actively drilled with the Naval Control of Shipping Unit 601, New Haven, Connecticut as a training officer, according to the announcement.

She was actively deployed in 1985 as the Operations Officer/Navigator for Maritime Prepositioning Squadron 2, onboard the flagship, MV Cpl. Louis J. Hauge Jr., according to the announcement.

"She continues to serve the veteran community as Vice President of the Western Connecticut Military Officers Association, chairing the annual Young American Awardee scholarship banquet honoring patriotic high school graduating seniors," the release reads. "As Vice-Commander of Ukrainian American Veterans Post 33, she has assisted in fundraising and humanitarian aid efforts to support the Ukrainian military and civilian victims of the current conflict. She is a member of the American Legion A.V. Napolitano Post 141, Trumbull."

The parade will step off at 10 a.m., beginning at the new shopping plaza, Long Hill Market and ending at Town Hall.

The town will fly flags on Main Street from Memorial Day until Sept. 11.

Anyone who wishes to sponsor a flag can find a purchase form here.

"You may purchase a flag in honor of a soldier currently serving, a current veteran, or in memory of a soldier who is deceased," the announcement reads. "Anyone can sponsor a flag in honor of all soldiers. The names of those being remembered or honored will appear in the program."

The town will also hold a contest to create a theme for the parade for Trumbull residents in grades 6, 7 and 8. More information is available here.
