Trumbull Offers Update On Air Quality Due To Canadian Wildfires

Town officials said they recommend residents with breathing issues avoid outdoor physical activity.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull officials provided an update Wednesday afternoon regarding the air quality of the town, and the state as a whole, as a result of the Canadian wildfires.

According to the town website, Trumbull Emergency Management regularly receives updates from the state Department of Emergency Management regarding air quality resulting from these wildfires.

The Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security issued a statement around 10:15 a.m. "informing city and town officials of the declining air quality that is occurring over Connecticut" Wednesday.

It is predicted that Connecticut's air quality standards may drop to "very unhealthy" levels Wednesday afternoon through early Thursday morning, town officials said.

Town officials said they recommend residents with breathing issues avoid outdoor physical activity. Those without breathing issues should also avoid prolonged outside exposure.

Consideration for moving outdoor activities indoors should also be taken at this time, town officials said.
