Trumbull Officials Consider Pay-to-Play Policy
Trumbull High School students currently pay $250 to participate in an after school sport.

Trumbull officials are considering getting rid of student pay-to-play fees for extracurricular activities, including sports.
Currently, Trumbull High School students are charged $250 for athletics with a $750 family cap, according to the Connecticut Post. The policy started in 1989 and the fee was $30.
Many other municipalities are also considering getting rid of pay-to-play policies. Shelton eliminated the policy after only four years after the school system saw a drop in sport participation.
