Trumbull Parks and Rec Director Announces Departure
Stuart Mccarthy served as the first combined Parks and Recreation director.

TRUMBULL, CT — Parks and Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy announced he would be leaving the position to pursue other opportunities.
“Stuart was the Town’s first combined Parks and Recreation Director,"said First Selectman Tim Herbst. "Stuart McCarthy’s leadership has modernized our Parks and Recreation Department and enhanced programs and activities for our system users.”
McCarthy was previously the parks and recreation director in Westport.

“I would like to thank the First Selectman Herbst and Parks and Recreation Commission Chairman Bob Ferrigno for the opportunity to serve the Trumbull community,” McCarthy said. “Trumbull, through the foresight of previous generations, has a truly exceptional parks system and I am confident that the outstanding staff in place is well prepared to continue to provide quality programs and services to the residents.”
Herbst added that McCarthy oversaw the online recreation program registration system implementation and added internal controls within the department.

"While there is still additional work to do, Stuart has laid a foundation for his successor that will further make our parks and recreation programming second to none," Herbst said.
