Trumbull PD Makes Arrest In $12k Necklace Theft

A man is accused of stealing a necklace valued at around $12,000 from Kay Jewelers, according to police.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Milford man was arrested after he stole a 24-karat gold necklace from Kay's Jewelers Sept. 28, 2019, according to police.

Brandon McLaughlin, 26, asked to see the necklace valued at $11,999 and a salesperson took it out of a display case. McLaughlin grabbed the necklace and ran off, police said.

Detectives took fingerprints from the display case and matched them to McLaughlin, according to police. He was taken into custody by New Haven Police and was turned over to Trumbull Police. He is charged with second-degree larceny.
