Trumbull PD Makes DUI Arrests

Police made two recent unrelated DUI arrests.

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull Police recently made two unrelated DUI arrests in town.

A Shelton man was arrested after he was found slumped over his steering wheel with his headlights off and hazard lights on, according to police.

An officer came across the vehicle on Huntington Turnpike Nov. 9. Reminguiz Rowinski, 42, of Shelton was apparently sleeping and it took several knocks on his window to wake him up, police said.

Officers noticed he smelled like alcohol and gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed, according to police. Rowinski said his car’s tire had randomly blown out, which is why he was on the side of the road.

A Trumbull man was arrested after he nearly struck a police cruiser while driving intoxicated, according to police.

An officer was traveling on White Plains Road Nov. 12 when he saw another car cross over the double yellow line, nearly striking his vehicle, police said.

Artur Arekhau, 37, of Trumbull displayed signs of intoxication and failed a field sobriety test, according to police. He refused a breath test. Officers found two empty nips of whiskey and two full bottles of Proseco in his vehicle.
