Trumbull PD Warns Of Coronavirus Scams
The CDC isn't going door to door asking people to take a survey.
TRUMBULL, CT — Police are warning residents about potential scams related to the new coronavirus. There have been unverified reports throughout the country of people pretending to be workers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention going door-to-door.
"The Trumbull Police Department would like to make it known that the CDC is not conducting any such survey or investigation," said Lt. Brian Weir, police spokesman. "Residents should not grant anyone access into their residence whom they do not know, or who were not previously scheduled to be there. Under these circumstances, Trumbull residents should immediately contact the police."
Police also remind residents to be wary of other ongoing scams such as IRS scams or money scams.
