Trumbull Police Remind Residents Not to Leave Kids in Vehicles
As temperatures reach past 80 degrees police remind residents to keep pets and children out of hot unattended cars.

TRUMBULL, CT- As the mercury passes 80 degrees this week Trumbull Police are reminding residents to not leave young children unattended in hot vehicles.
"Even with outdoor temperatures in the 60's the inside temperature of a vehicle can soar to 110 degrees," said Lt. Leonard Scinto, police spokesman.
Leaving a child under the age of 12 in an unattended car can result in criminal charges and a referral to the state Department of Children and Families.

Pets are also susceptible to dangerous heat in vehicles. Trumbull Police have responded in the past to incidents where unattended pets are left in a hot vehicle. It can result in criminal charges too.
