Armed Man Arrested After Standoff With Trumbull Police, 2-Year-Old Safely Recovered
A child was in the home during the standoff. Several guns were recovered by police.

TRUMBULL, CT — A 31-year-old town man was arrested after he assaulted his wife and threatened to shoot anyone that entered his house, according to police.
Police were called to Hurd Road in the overnight hours after a woman reported that her husband Eric Dunn assaulted her and that she had left the house on foot with one of her children, said Lt. Keith Golding, police spokesman.
Police responded just before 1 a.m. She stated that Dunn threatened to shoot anyone who tried to enter the house and that he owned a handgun, Golding said.

A 2-year-old remained in the house as police talked to Dunn. The standoff ended around 6 a.m. Thursday with Dunn being arrested on assault charges. Several firearms were recovered from the house.
Dunn will be arraigned later today.
