Trumbull School Calendar 2019-20: First Day Of School, Vacations

TRUMBULL, CT — The first day of school in Trumbull is August 29 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you'll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The school district has released its 2019-2020 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September 2 Labor Day, no school
September 30 Rosh Hashanah, no school

October 9 Yom Kippur, no school
October 14 Columbus Day, no school
Oct. 29 early closing for grades PK-5 for conferences

November 5 Professional Learning Staff - No School for students
November 7 Early closing for grades PK-8 for conferences
November 14 Early closing PK-5 for conferences
Nov. 20 Early closing grades 6-8 for conferences
November 21 early closing for grades 9-12 for conferences
November 27 Early Dismissal for Staff & Students
November 28 & 29 Thanksgiving Holiday, no school

January 20 Martin Luther King Day, no school

Feb. 14-17 long weekend break, 14th reserved as a snow makeup day.

March 19 early closing grades 6-8
March 23, teacher professional day, no school for students

April 10-17 Good Friday, then vacation week

May 25 Memorial Day, no school

June
June 12, planned last day of school, the last two days of school are early closing for students
June 15-23 are reserved as snow makeup days

June 12 is the planned last day of school. Snow days, up to a maximum of 7, will be added to the end of the school year. If needed, an additional day will be taken from the February Long Weekend: February 14. If an 8th day is needed, or if an additional day is needed after the February Long Weekend, that day will be recovered on the March PD Day, which will be a legal day. Teachers will then attend one more day in June
