Trumbull Seeks Poll Workers For 2024 Primary, Presidential Elections

TRUMBULL, CT — The town of Trumbull is seeking poll workers to help ensure in-person voting is safe and all eligible votes are counted during the upcoming primary and presidential elections.

According to the town website, responsibilities include greeting and checking in voters, handing out ballots, guarding voting machines and helping voters with visual or mobility issues.

The upcoming Primary Election is scheduled to take place Aug. 13, 2024. The Presidential Election will be held Nov. 5, 2024.

Poll workers must be 16 or older to apply. Compensation ranges from $200 to $350, and poll workers must attend a training session prior to the election, which is usually held the Thursday evening before voting starts.

Election Day start time is 5 a.m., and end time is 9 p.m. or later depending on how long it takes to make sure all the votes have been correctly counted, according to the town.

Poll workers must work the full day. The town will provide lunch and dinner for all poll workers.
