TRUMBULL, CT — Residential and vehicle fires have significantly increased in town recently for a variety of reasons, according to the Trumbull Fire Marshal's Office.
In a news release posted to the town website, fire officials advised all residents to check and ensure they have properly functioning smoke detectors.

"This is crucial for the safety of residents," fire officials said in a news release.
Officials also urged residents to remember to exit the area of the fire quickly and call 911 rather than attempt to extinguish it themselves.
