Trumbull Shoplifting Accomplice Arrested: PD

The man served as the getaway driver, police said.

TRUMBULL, CT — A Bridgeport man was arrested as an accomplice in a shoplifting that occurred at the Trumbull mall, according to police.

A woman walked into the Sunglass Hut store and took a pair of $455 designer glasses. An off-duty investigator for the court system was nearby and tried to stop her, police said. She pulled out a can of mace and threatened to use it, but then decided to flee the mall.

She got into a BMW and left the premises. Police got the license plate of the BMW and traced it back to operator Noel Boothe, 33. He was charged with conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny, criminal liability for acts of another and operating a vehicle under suspension.
