Update: Police Release More Details About Trumbull Standoff Incident
A three-hour standoff occurred after a shotgun was fired in a Trumbull neighborhood.

Trumbull Police arrested a man on Shelton Road after he allegedly fired a shotgun at a neighbor.
Police received the report shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, said Lt. Leonard Scinto, police spokesman.
Pellets from the shotgun struck a tree near where the complainant was standing. The complainant also reported that he witnessed a verbal and physical altercation between a man and woman at 270 Shelton Road.

Police surrounded the home and closed the area off to traffic. They notified neighbors by phone of the incident unfolding.
After about 90 minutes the female victim emerged from the house with “obvious signs of having been assaulted,” Scinto said.

She said her boyfriend Greg Gerathy, 55 was intoxicated and struck her several times in the face. He also allegedly attempted to strangle her with a shirt.
Gerathy emerged from the rear of the house around 10 p.m. He was charged with third-degree assault, third-degree strangulation, interfering with police and criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition.
No weapon was recovered, but a single shotgun round was located on the counter in his residence.
