Trumbull State House Members To Host 'Restock The Shelves' Food Drive

TRUMBULL, CT — Trumbull State Representatives David Rutigliano (R-123), Ben McGorty (R-122) and Tony Scott (R-112) will be holding a "Restock the Shelves" food drive for the Trumbull Food Pantry later this month.

The event will take place Jan. 13 outside the Trumbull Stop and Shop, located at 100 Quality Street.

According to a news release provided by House Republicans, the lawmakers wanted to hold the food drive knowing that after the holidays the Trumbull Food Pantry can become depleted just as the winter temperatures begin to plunge.

The state representatives will be outside Stop and Shop from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. to collect food and other donations for the pantry.

Rutigliano mentioned how the food pantry is always in need of non-food items, like, laundry detergent, dish soap and hygiene products, and shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, deodorant.

Additionally, monetary donations or gift cards are appreciated. Checks can be made payable to The Trumbull Food Pantry (please do not mail cash) and mailed to: TRUMBULL FOOD PANTRY - 23 Priscilla Place - Trumbull, CT 06611.
