Trumbull Superintendent Requests Budget Increase

Dr. Gary Cialfi made his proposal to the Board of Education.

TRUMBULL, CT —Trumbull Public Schools Superintendent Gary Cialfi put forth his 2017-2018 proposed budget.

The proposal calls for a budget of $102.6 million, which would be a 3.78 percent increase over the current budget, according to the Trumbull Times.

About $3.2 million of the $3.7 million proposed increase are non-discretionary expenses such as salaries, benefits and contractual obligations.

The Board of Education will look at the budget and make a recommendation to First Selectman Tim Herbst. Herbst can then revise the request before sending to the Board of Finance and ultimately the Town Council.
