Trumbull Target Shoplifter Arrested: PD
Police connected a license plate, surveillance video and an old booking photo to make the arrest.

TRUMBULL, CT—A suspected shoplifter was arrested by police after they put together a license plate number and an old booking photo, according to police.
Police were called to Target June 13 at the mall for a shoplifting in progress. The thief made off with Fit Bits worth nearly $700. The suspect was spotted getting into a vehicle. Police pursued the vehicle for a short while before breaking it off due to safety concerns.
Police got the license plate number of the vehicle and obtained an old booking photo of the suspect who is identified as William Bahr, 33, of Meriden. The booking photo was matched to Target surveillance video.

Police also found the Fit Bits had been pawned in Southington.
Bahr was charged with fifth-degree larceny and possession shoplifting device after being arrested at court Nov. 15 on an unrelated charge.
