Trumbull/Bridgeport End Sewer Use Battle

TRUMBULL, CT- The Bridgeport City Council voted to accept a settlement that allows Trumbull to use the city sewer system and a sewage treatment plant.

Trumbull has had a 13.5 percent discount that will now be reduced to eight percent, according to the Connecticut Post. That discount will drop one percent annually over the 10-year deal and the last two years of the contract will have no discount.

Trumbull will also be free to explore other options to get rid of its waste.

First Selectman Tim Herbst said he was able to work better with Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim and that former Mayor Bill Finch wanted to eliminate the discount outright.
